CT4 Compressor


The CT4 provides clean and smooth gain reduction, with a little punch. I designed the CT4 to have both electro-optical and vari-mu characteristics. Users have noted that the CT4 is very good at preserving the "air" of the source material.

Usage Notes

Compression
The CT4 has a soft knee compression curve with a peak ratio of about 5:1. The compression knob acts like a threshold and ratio control rolled into one. Turning up the control simultaneously lowers the threshold and increases the ratio.

Operating Tip
If your input signal isn't very hot and you desire more gain reduction even after cranking the compression knob to 10, there may still be some compression "headroom" left. Try using a Trim plug-in before the CT4 to increase the input level, which will also drive the sidechain "circuit" harder.
